Christian Persecution

We read of horrible persecutions happening to Christians around the world. But in a recent discussion, a man said it is not common in America, America being a better place. I replied that many believers come from sheltered homes, remain sheltered in Bible College, and continue living sheltered lives in the pulpit surrounded by believers. And this is good, but many experience persecution upholding Christ in the pagan workplace. And experience division in their families as Jesus describes. And never have sure footing in the world because of following Christ.

What are your views or experiences? “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” (2 Timothy 3:12) (KJV 1900)

We see persecution in America, albeit not as bad as elsewhere, every day.

Most of what I've experienced has been in the workplace. And if war includes laying siege to a city, cutting off food and water, we have this in miniature every day of the year when taking a stand for Christ. Demotions, threats of dismissal, being placed on salary working so many long hours you end up below minimum wage etc.
